Dr. Naucke of the Institute for Medical Parasitology tested 10% IR3535 in comparison to 10% DEET as alcoholic solutions against two types of sand flies (Phlebotomus mascittii and duboscqi). You will find his article under the publication list button. The following graph and table summarizes the results of these studies. In comparson with DEET, IR3535® performed the same against P. duboscqi but had a much better performance than DEET against P. mascittii.
- The efficacy of IR3535® against sand-fly is at least equal to DEET and depending on species sometimes better. 10% IR3535® provided 6 – 10 hours protection depending on species.
